About Stephanie

I Always Strive to Lead by Example

A lifelong member of the Evansville community, I always strive to lead by example. Whether in the business sector, serving on the Vanderburgh County Council, or during my successful nonprofit career, I have a calm, confident nature that makes me an effective consensus-builder. I always put getting the job done over seeking the spotlight. This is especially true in my local government work. I don’t get things done alone.

My Experience

Having spent the majority of my life in Evansville, I know the city very well. I was born here and attended Lincoln, Vogel and Oak Hill grade schools, Glenwood Middle School, and graduated from Bosse High School. I have a Bachelor of Science in biology from Kentucky State University and a Master of Science in health service administration from University of Evansville.

My career and public service history has allowed me to understand the people of Evansville and the city itself in a number of important ways.

✓ I have served as a Public Health Administrator with the Indiana State Department of Health where I assisted county health departments in developing public health crisis response plans.

✓ I served in personnel and financial capacities for Angel River Health & Rehabilitation.

✓I joined Carver Community Organization as its first Deputy Director, managing day-to-day operations of the childcare, senior center/adult day care, and afterschool programming.

Today I’m the Executive Director of the Louis J. Koch Family Children’s Museum of Evansville (cMoe).
During the past 12 years under my leadership, cMoe has increased visitors and memberships; strengthened partnerships; and raised and invested over $1 million in new capital projects. I also successfully led the museum through the global pandemic and am currently positioning cMoe for a major transformation, overseeing the investment of millions of dollars in exhibit improvements.

We get things done together.

Community Work

My civic and community work does not stop there. I have served on the board of directors of the following organizations:

• Southwestern Behavioral Healthcare
• YWCA
• Visiting Nurse Association
• City of Evansville Board of Public Safety
• E-REP (formerly Southwest Indiana Chamber)
• Women’s Equality Day Committee

I currently, serve on:

• Downtown Economic Improvement District (EID) board
• Treasurer of the Association of Children’s Museums, a national board

Additionally, I just completed a four-year term as the Indiana State Coordinator for Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., overseeing 13 chapters across the state.

I have received numerous awards over the years, but I am most proud of:
